Y qué si la democracia ocurre?
que inaugura el Miércoles 14 de marzo 7.30 p.m. y va hasta el 27 de mayo, bajo la curaduría de Miguel López con la participación de más de 35 artistas y alrededor de 40 obras. la exposición es un intento de tomarle el pulso a la coyuntura política de estos últimos doce años del llamado 'retorno de la democracia'.
(Malecón Pazos 252, Barranco). habrán dos performances en la inauguración: del poeta frido martín y del artista huancaino, radicado en Berlín, Antonio Páucar.

EXPOSICION DE MINIFORMATOS DE 6 X 6 pulgadas

Fecha límite 05 de mayo (Internacional matasellos 01 de mayo, por favor)
(Roco) internacionales pequeñas Rochester Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de retornos fenómeno de arte con miles de obras de arte originales, realizados y donados por celebridades, artistas internacionales y locales, diseñadores, estudiantes universitarios, jóvenes, y usted. Cada obra debe ser de 6 x 6 pulgadas cuadradas (o montarse en una placa de 6 × 6) y la única firmada en la parte posterior, que se expondrán de forma anónima. Todas las inscripciones serán aceptadas, exhibido y estarán a la venta al público de $ 20 cada uno (en la galería y en línea para la compra global) para beneficiar a Roco. Nombres de los artistas se dará a conocer al comprador después de la compra y todas las obras de arte permanecerán en exhibición hasta el 15 de julio. Agotado nombres de los artistas se dará a conocer junto a su trabajo el 6 de julio. Cualquier persona puede introducir un máximo de 10 obras de arte de cualquier medio y no hay cuota para entrar en la exposición.

Exhibiciones en Washington DC
Patricia Funegra, Consultora de Arte en Washington DC convoca a artistas Peruanos (pintores, escultores) para Exhibiciones de Arte a llevarse a cabo en Washington DC durante el 2012.
Se requieren:
... 1.- Artistas Peruanos, hombres o mujeres, pintores, cuyas piezas hayan sido inspiradas por mujeres Peruanas, es decir que los lienzos muestren mujeres en estilo figurativo o abstracto.
2.- Escultores Peruanos, que trabajen en madera, piedra, vidrio, etc, para una exhibición al aire libre.
3.- Pintores y/o escultores jóvenes, emergentes, estudiantes o recién egresados.

Call for Artists: Crossing Identities - Mexico

International ArtExpo is selecting all interesting video/short.films and photo works to include in the next 2011 Exhibition:
Crossing Identities - International Videoart Festival and Photo Exhibition at Terraza Bugambilias in Morelia, Mexico (December 02 - 04, 2011)
The deadline for applications is November 15, 2011.
The selections will be based on the main concept of “Crossing Identities”. In contemporary society boundaries are getting more and more fleeting, and also the identity, what makes every person or place a recognizable entity, turns out fluid, multiple, making also the cultural, religious, ethnic borders changeable. This change, this mutation has allowed to cross the inside of the identities creating new possible crossings, new blends. And it’s just this “contemporaneity” that makes our civilization conceived as subjected to a process of continuous evolution and cultural hybridization. There is no limit between an identity and the other one any more but it is possible to walk, to cross a passage and to find oneself halfway through it, in a non-place, in a non-identity.
The number of works with which you can participate is unlimited.
All video works must be on DVD (PAL or NTSC), no matter what the original source medium. The maximum length of videos should be 10 minutes.
All photo works on every kind of support are accepted. The maximum dimensions allowed per each image are 150 cm per side.
Send your works submissions with a CV/biography, videography and some still images (only for videoartists) and some samples of photo works (only for artists) to:

Konstantin Dimopoulos - The Shower Room

‘Transformation’ is the focus of this new installation by Konstantin Dimopoulos. The black-and-white Bergman-like images, seemingly crafted from some Nordic or Barbaric lands, are transplanted effortlessly here in this Antipodean landscape. In The Shower Room, Dimopoulos creates a series of modular shower units, five in total. Each stand-alone work is 3 meters in height, made of black steel, with a shower unit held on five stem pediments. The dark spider-like legs, long and extended, splay outwards from the centre of the shower, each leg sitting on castors that allow them to move freely. Their mobility is a statement in itself, the portability of ideas.
